It’s almost like an advent calendar. Another item from the backlog Christmas Tree. 🎄
If like von Peter himself you have a great interest in central Europe 1813 then all of your Christmas’s are coming early.
Recently published has been David Brown’s “1813, The Battles for Germany” – “STOP PRESS: “1813, The Battles for Germany” released“.
And also recently demanding access to the wallet of von Peter himself “LEIPZIG: THE BATTLE OF NATIONS A Wargamer’s Guide to the Battle of Leipzig 1813” was published. See the second half of “2/2 Polish Line and Leipzig a wargamer’s guide“.
If you are teeter-tottering on whether to purchase this then that good keen man Ken – the Yorkshire Gamer – has provisioned some information to aid your decision. Firstly he has reviewed the book on YouTube at Leipzig – A Wargamers Guide by Rohan Saravanamuttu – Helion Books – A Yarkshire Gamer Review. Secondly in one of his recent “Yarkshire Gamers Reet Big Wargames Podcast” episodes he is talking with the author Rohan Saravanamuttu. You can catch it on your favourite podcast provider or at Episode 34 – Rohan Saravanamuttu – Wargaming Leipzig.
Let’s Fight Leipzig! Wargaming The Battle Of The Nations
And now there is another Wargame’s scenario book for us 1813 junkies – “Let’s Fight Leipzig! Wargaming The Battle Of The Nations”. This one appears to be self published by the author Steve Shann. You can see details on Steve’s “Nation’s In Arms” blog, or more specifically his “Let’s Fight Leipzig! An Update” post on said blog. The latter also has details on how to purchase the book from Steve. To quote/pirate Steve’s words …
I am really pleased with the way it has turned out. There are a dozen scenarios from the great battle, each with some background information, specially commissioned maps and orders of battle as well as special rules where appropriate for each scenario.
There is also a little historical background to put the battle into context, but unlike in my Seelow Heights book, where much of the information I included was less widely known, Leipzig is a very well documented battle, so I have kept it to a minimum.
A copy of this is destined to nestle under the Christmas Tree at Neu Schloss von Peter … though with publication dates and international postage that Christmas Tree may have been well and truly dismantled before the book arrives. But I’m sure The dear reader has divined the intent behind the thinking.
Enough.
Until we meet again …

Many thanks, Steve Shann is an old friend and will be on the Podcast to talk about the book and many other things in the new year 😀

Hello Ken The Yarkshire Gamer
I look forward to hearing what Steve has to say about his latest scenario book. What’s not to love about fighting Leipzig? Apart from the small problem that the copy destined for von Peter himself is yet to arrive!! 🤬
